TEN Capital Story
TEN Capital is not your ordinary fundraiser. In fact, it’s the anti-broker of fundraisers as we are not a broker/dealer and take no backend fees.
The cost for our fundraise is on average 5X cheaper than brokers and funding portals. That’s because we are not raising funding for you but rather helping you raise funding by providing a series of services.
I ran angel networks in the 2000s and saw the challenge startups had in raising funding. I saw many entrepreneurs pitch to my room full of investors only to see that ninety percent of them never followed up. The ten percent that did come back, show progress, and built a relationship raised most of the funding.
Startups need help preparing their fundraise documents, gaining an introduction, and keeping the investor up to date on the progress of the business.
I wanted to change the way fundraising worked.
I launched the company in 2009 under the name Texas Entrepreneur Networks to help startups raise funding from angel groups. Since then I expanded the investor network to over 8,000 accredited investors from around the country.
In 2016 I started receiving calls from outside of Texas asking to join the program. I re-branded the company to TEN Capital and started running the events nationwide, and accepted startups from across the US.
I launched a podcast program called Investor Connect to interview the startup to hear their story as well as those of our investors. Today we have over 300 interviews on the site.
TEN Capital has helped hundreds of startups raise over $644M by enabling the startup to raise their own funding.

Meet the team
Hall Martin – Founder & CEO
Hall T. Martin is the Founder and CEO of TEN Capital.
He launched the firm as the Texas Entrepreneur Networks in 2009. Today, TEN Capital has over 7000 investors in its network, and has helped startups raise over $644M and counting.
Hall serves as the Vice-Chair of the Baylor Angel Network. He previously led the Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN) as its first Executive Director where he achieved over a 40X return for the investors.
He is the founder and director of the Texas Open Angel Network which is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to the education of angel investors. As a part of that program he hosts the Investor Connect podcast series.
He is also a Founder and initial Managing Director of SKU (Incubation Station), a consumer product goods accelerator based in Austin, Texas, and the former Managing Director of AccelerateNFC, an accelerator based in Dallas, Texas, focusing on Near Field Communication.
Hall serves as an adjunct professor for the University of Texas leading the Idea to IP program which fosters startups from the engineering program.
Caitlin Leach – Director of Operations
Caitlin has over fourteen years’ operations, management and client services experience in a variety of professional environments.
She began her career in film as the Co Founder and Director of the Austin Underground Film Festival. She then transitioned into the startup world as the Incentive Manager for an inside sales company.
From there, she assisted in the launching and growth of several startups through sales, operations management and client relations. Currently, she is the Director of Operations for the TEN Capital Network.
Caitlin holds a B.A. in English Literature and Film Theory from Florida State University.
Ashley Matthysse – Events Director
Ashley Matthysse is TEN Capital’s Investor Relations and Events Director. Prior to TEN, Ashley owned a contemporary women’s boutique, as well as specialized in retail marketing and management.
At TEN, Ashley manages and hosts TEN Capital’s many events across the country and helps to manage the investor experience with TEN and its’ startups.
She completed her degree in Bachelor of Science in Apparel & Textile Marketing and Management from Kansas State University in 2001-2005 batch.
Lilia Beaman – Client Investor Relations
Lilia Beaman has worked in a variety of fields including civil engineering, academic administration, customer service, fashion design, fashion education, and retail.
She has owned and operated two small businesses: Lilia Ballí, a custom tailoring and bridal shop in Austin, Texas, and Western Whims, an American-made ready-to-wear apparel company.
She holds two degrees from the University of Texas at Austin: B.S. Textiles & Apparel Design, B.A. American Studies. Lilia is the Client Services Manager for TEN Capital Network (August 2019 – Present).
Samantha Eldred – Administrative Services
Sam has been in the administrative field since the age of 16, and loves what she does. She is very detailed in her work, organized and reliable. She recently moved to Austin and loves everything except the heat! In her spare time, Sam likes to read, bake and play with her two fur babies.
